Our children need to be able to count out objects, make sets of objects, name numbers, match the sets to a number, and compare which set has more or less. Does one have a lot more? Count count count everything all around you.
Guess how many steps it is to the door? Then check. How about baby steps/giant steps/skips? Can you write that number?
